Take Away: Even when we have faith we can become distracted by the storms of life. It’s important especially at those times that we keep our eyes on Jesus and trust Him to walk through the challenges with us.

Take Away: Many things can become idols in our lives which can keep us from knowing Jesus to the fullest. For Judas that idol was money. It exposed Judas’ lack of a worshiping heart paving the way for the betrayal of Christ.

Bapto (bap'-to)=to stain

As Christ followers we have to be cautious not to open up doors for the enemy to infiltrate the righteousness in which we’re called to walk through Jesus. Judas had laid the groundwork through dishonesty and deception that opened the door for Satan to completely take him over.

The Jewish culture would have been accustomed to a practice called “testaments of dying” which would include instructions for those who would be left behind

The challenge for us in this age is "What are people’s definitions of love?".

Like Peter, sometimes our pride can cloud our perception of ourselves. Jesus saw Peter with all of His flaws, but Jesus also knew He would one day build His Church on this imperfect man. God doesn’t call us to be perfect. He calls us to love Him with our whole heart.
