I want to open this new series by talking about the importance of
EXPECTATION in PRAYER.
Psalms 5:3 NIV
Moses, Elijah, Jesus… Every time God promised them something, they expected it to come to pass.
Illustration: God is teaching me a lot about prayer…I have some big hopes and dreams that I am believing God for. I’ve struggled over the years to keep praying for the breakthrough. God answer prayer!
Everywhere I look in the Bible encourages me to press on, to pray BOLD PRAYERS, to stand in faith.
WORRY AND DOUBT ARE THE GREAT ENEMIES OF EXPECTANT PRAYER. #Supernatrual #Prayer

The main passage I want to use this week to help us grasp the importance of EXPECTATION is in the story of Elijah. 1 Kings 17-18
-Elijah announces a great drought (3.5 Years)
-Go to this ravine east of the Jordon, drink from the brook, Ravens will feed you bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening. (Elijah is learning about trust and expectation)
-1 Kings 17:5 - “So he did what the Lord had told him.”

1 Kings 17:9-12 NIV
-v 21Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!”
-450 prophets of Baal against the 1 prophet of God.
