Worship Gathering - In Transit #4
Primary text/character: Paul
Focus:
In our sermon series, we have been looking at what to do when we find ourselves in the "in between" place. Something in our lives has changed or ended and now we are not sure what to do going forward. These times can be very difficult. Thankfully God's Word shares a lot about this. This week we will look at the life of Paul. What do we do when we discover that all that we know was wrong? See you Sunday at 10:30am.
Elements of the Service:
1. Veterans Celebration
Reflection Questions:
1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
2. Name a time that your expectations were let down. How did you deal with it?
3. Paul and even the disciples had their own thoughts on what the what the Messiah should do and how Jesus should act. Would you have been any different than the disciples in the New Testament?
4. Do you have assumptions and expectations about God that need to be challenged? What might they be?
5. If you were persecuted and put in prison, would you have Paul’s emphasis on love and patience?
6. When Paul says he “can do all things through Christ” what is he emphasizing? Is it about achieving everything he wants?
7. What might God be asking us to do about this area of our lives?
8. How can we encourage and pray for each other in this?
