Last Week's Take Aways:
Take Away: God loves us in the first place and because of this love He’s sent His Son to express His profound love to us. Jesus’ love for us is expressed by His work on the Cross. Our love for others flows out of God’s love for us.

Take Away: We’re found innocent and our sins have been paid for by the act of grace that is evidenced in Jesus offering Himself on the Cross. It’s a grace that is extended to all people for all time.
A. Worship in Spirit and In Truth
At Emmanuel Church we desire to be a people who live a lifestyle of Praise and Worship. Worship transforms people and families.

Worship is our outward and inward expression of thanksgiving and praise to the One who created us. Worship includes corporate and private singing, prayer, giving, and submission to God in all areas of our lives. It is first and foremost a response to who God is and a response to what He's done for us. Worship is to be a lifestyle that fills our journey with Christ, and not merely a corporate activity. When we worship we put Jesus first and seek to be led by the Holy Spirit as we purposely seek to be in His amazing presence. (Leviticus 26:1; 1 Samuel 12:21; Exodus 34:14; Psalm 29:2; Psalm 81:9; Psalm 99:9; Matthew 4:10; John 4:24)
Matt. 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45
“truth” = Al-ay’-thace: Not concealed

“worship” = Pros-koo-ne’-o: to kiss the hand
Take Away: Worship is our natural response to the One who created us, who sent His Son to die for our sins, and the One who’s given us the deposit of the Holy Spirit to guide us in our Jesus journey. There are many ways to Worship, but all are rooted in our desire to lift up God because of who He is and what He’s done.
At Emmanuel Church we desire to be a people who are led by the Holy Spirit as He illuminates God’s Truth. The Holy Spirit transforms people and families.

The Holy Spirit's role is to illuminate God’s Truth and to empower us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. God’s Word represents absolute truth, is without error, inspired by the Holy Spirit through men, and is our guide for daily living. It is the Holy Spirit that woos us through Prevenient Grace to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In saying “yes” to Jesus we experience His Saving Grace. Our God exists as God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all working on our behalf as Christ followers. God’s Sanctifying Grace is at work in each of us as we are being made more and more like Christ. As we embrace the Spirit-filled life, evidence is found in our display of the Fruit of the Spirit. God has sent His Holy Spirit as a rich deposit in each believer to guide us and teach us until the return of His Son, Jesus Christ. (John 14:26; Matthew 3:11; Matthew 28:19; John 15:26; Acts 1:8; Romans 14:16-18; Titus 3:4-6; 2 Peter 1:20- 21; Galatians 5:22-23)
If we don’t believe in absolute truth then we will believe in what the culture passes off as truth, a constantly shifting truth left to be defined by sinful mankind.
Take Away: Our belief in the authority of Scripture anchors us in God’s Truth and the Holy Spirit continues to illuminate God’s Truth to us as we study His Word. Emmanuel Church believes in the traditional orthodox beliefs that have stood the test of time and weathered the storms of hypocrisy. Our identity as a Church Family and our identity as individual Christ followers is rooted in the Truth of God’s Word.
