Marriage is Sacred
God takes the marriage covenant seriously. In the seventh commandment God forbids adultery. Adultery threatens, among many things, the building block of society – that building block being the family. Because God takes marriage and sexual integrity seriously, we too should be serious about honoring marriage by keeping it sacred. --- Many people are looking for a life of hope, freedom, and blessing. The law of God is often viewed as a list of do’s and don’ts, but it is actually God’s guide for us to experience a life of freedom filled with blessing. The ten commandments are not only God’s code of conduct for a moral life, but they help us see our need for Jesus and show us how we can live a life filled with hope.

To obey the seventh commandment is to preserve the sanctity of marriage and to uphold God’s standard for sexual integrity. In pursuit of obedience to the seventh commandment, we would all benefit from applying to our lives, Psalm 119:9-11 which says, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
