Worship Service - Jonah Ch 2 - God’s mercy is often not fair, but will always be there

The book of Jonah reminds us that the God of the universe cares about all of his creation. In this great book, God sends his prophet to call the people of Ninevah to repentance. Reluctantly, and after 3 days in the belly of a fish, Jonah heads for Ninevah. His warning is met with humble repentance and the people of Ninevah are spared. How could God spare such an evil and pagan people? This is the heart of our great God. He is patient and compassionate, not wanting anyone to perish. As we study Jonah, let’s seek to manifest a similar heart toward the unbelieving; courageously reaching out to those who need to turn to him for salvation.
