Two verbs used in the New Testament: baptō and baptizō

Baptism is all about making a statement, alignment, and commitment of obedience to Jesus.

Baptism is a public statement of alignment of our life with Christ’s. By entering the waters of baptism,  one makes visible and tangible the inner commitment to sharing in the death and life of Jesus. Baptism is a commitment to obedience, one of two ordinances or sacraments given to us by Christ Himself.
