Discussion Questions

1. When you get an invitation to an event, are you most likely to<br> a) respond immediately<br> b) think it over for a while<br> c) RSVP at the last minute<br> d) forget about it entirely<br><br>2. From your notes, what in the message or passage: encouraged, challenge, confused, or inspired you?<br><br>3. Compare the competing invitations of Wisdom and Folly. How are they similar? Different? What makes us want to say "yes" to each one?<br><br>4. Tell about a common situation where you feel you received "competing invitations." One invited you to the good, godly, eternal, or wise. The other invited you toward the sketchy, ungodly, temporary, or otherwise. How did you react?<br><br>5. Describe a time you received constructive feedback, but were initially tempted to get defensive or reject it? What made you decide to listen and learn instead? <br>Read Proverbs 9:8–9. How have you observed the reality of these truths?<br><br>6.Read Proverbs 9:10–12. Give an example from your own experience that illustrates something reflecting this wisdom.<br><br>7. Read Galatians 6:6-10. In your walk with Jesus, how has he reassured you or driven home these truths?<br><br>8. Followers of Jesus are called to be good neighbors and ambassadors of the good news. Your neighbors and the One Life whom God has placed in your path are constantly receiving competing invitations -- some toward Jesus and others away from Jesus. Knowing this reality, how can you grow and compassion, prayer, and love for them?<br><br><br>
