Throughout History, there have been times where the disconnect between the TEACHINGS and EXAMPLE of Jesus Christ and the ACTIONS AND ATTITUDES of those who claim to be his followers has been exposed.
If we truly know Jesus and follow Him, we will be made like Him and our IDENTITY as a Christian will be evidenced by our TESTIMONY.
Mark’s Gospel was written to tell us that God came to earth to bring an all out ASSAULT ON EVIL and to free you and I from any BONDAGE that would keep us from knowing our God, through His Son – Jesus Christ.
If you want to know who God is, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what it means to be human, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what love is, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what grief is, look at Jesus.
And go on looking until you’re not just a spectator, but your actually part of the drama which has him as the central character.

The Kingdom of God:
God coming into the world to reveal and display His POWER, GLORY AND AUTHRORITY over all powers, including the power and control of Satan in this sinful world.

Jesus didn’t need a CROWD. He was ALL THERE for whoever was THERE.
When you’ve been TOUCHED by Jesus, you can’t help but SERVE.

Jesus stopped to focus on a PERSON and not just a NEED.
The Disciples wanted more ACTION, but Jesus showed them the PRIORITY OF THE PAUSE.
By spending time with the Father, Jesus kept a clear understanding of WHO He was and WHAT he was there to do.

Jesus’ Prime Directive was NOT to FIX LIVES, with a TEMPORARY FIX, but to PROCLAIM the way the truth and the life that would ReEngage them in relationship with God the Father and truly change people’s live for ETERNITY.
If we follow a God whose main purpose is the TEACH, then our GOAL ought to be to LEARN. (So we can teach others)
A couple of Observations - Be careful not to be found:
Chasing the MIRACLES, not the MESSAGE.
Pursuing God for SUCCESS without SURRENDER.

We must not look at God as being USEFUL. (He helps with finances, sickness, the job, the marriage.)

We must worship God because He is WORTHY!

PRIORITY OF THE PAUSE - THE SECRET OF PRAYER:
Simply having SECRET PRAYERS.
Not SOMETHING we do, it’s SOMEONE we’re with.
Not about GETTING what we want, but CONNECTING with who we are talking to.
Both TALKING and LISTENING.
The key to UNION with God, and SEPARATION from the enemy.
More about changing our LIVES, not changing God’s MIND.
Simply having SECRET PRAYERS.
Not SOMETHING we do, it’s SOMEONE we’re with.
Not about GETTING what we want, but CONNECTING with who we are talking to.
Both TALKING and LISTENING.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS:
If we are only COMING to God to get what we want, he may be RUNNING from us.
Prayerlessness may be our GREATEST SIN because of what it says about who we really think is IN CHARGE.
