I. Christianity is unique among the religions of the world.

II. Think of works in terms of obedience.
A. Works are our response, not our initiator (in chemistry: a substance that starts a chain reaction).
B. He does not love us because we love Him. We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John)
III. Why do works matter?
A. Works largely determine our level of intimacy with the Lord. Keyword: Pursuit.
B. Works form the basis of our reward in Heaven. Keyword: Stewardship.
C. Works are a key way to express our love for Jesus. Keyword: Expression.
