Submission leads to Authority
Throughout History, there have been times where the disconnect between the TEACHINGS and EXAMPLE of Jesus Christ and the ACTIONS AND ATTITUDES of those who claim to be his followers has been exposed.
If we truly know Jesus and follow Him, we will be made like Him and our IDENTITY as a Christian will be evidenced by our TESTIMONY.
Mark’s Gospel was written to tell us that God came to earth to bring an all out ASSAULT ON EVIL and to free you and I from any BONDAGE that would keep us from knowing our God, through His Son – Jesus Christ.
If you want to know who God is, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what it means to be human, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what love is, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what grief is, look at Jesus.
And go on looking until you’re not just a spectator, but your actually part of the drama which has him as the central character.

The Kingdom of God:
God coming into the world to reveal and display His POWER, GLORY AND AUTHRORITY over all powers, including the power and control of Satan in this sinful world.

First evidence of the Kingdom: DELIVERANCE / SALVATION – that which is under his rule moves from being oppressed to being set free.
Jesus came to earth to DESTROY the works of Satan, to ESTABLISH God’s Kingdom (the evidence of His power, authority, purposes and way of life) , and to FREE all of humankind from Satan’s power.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT US?
· Demons are real (yet 51% of Christians don’t believe the devil exists)
· Demons can’t possess a follower of Christ but they seek to destroy your witness and your life
They will attack and attempt to discredit God’s Word.
They attempt to steer people toward false teachings.
They will lie about your circumstances, your identity and your security in Christ!

What AUTHORITY do we have?
Highest authority is the NAME OF JESUS
The authority of the WORD
The authority of the BLOOD OF JESUS

How do we walk in that AUTHORITY and DEFEAT the attempts of Satan to deceive, discourage and dissuade us from following Christ and actively spreading the GOOD NEWS of Jesus?
