Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
6 When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with timbrels and lyres. 7 As they danced, they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, (1 Samuel 18:6-7a)
...Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.” (1 Samuel 18:7b)
Envy is the greed for another person‘s life and the loss of gratitude, joy, and contentment in our own.
8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands.” (1 Samuel 18:8a)
1. Envy cannot stand it when others are doing better than you.
It’s impossible to care when you compare.
What more can he get but the kingdom?” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David. (1 Samuel 18:8b-9)
2. Envy puts us in an adversarial posture toward others.
3. Envy makes us hostile toward those who have never harmed us.
2. Celebrate God’s Blessing of Others.
