Alexandria Covenant Church
We can never add to or take away from the gospel of grace. The gospel of grace affirms that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. The salvation that God provides has never been about we can do to gain salvation, but about what God has done for us by His grace through His Son, Jesus Christ. While the church in Jerusalem affirmed the gospel of grace, they also determined a pathway forward to preserve the unity of the body of Christ by living charitably towards one another. --- God can do amazing things through ordinary people who are empowered by the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit was given to all believers and the church was born. The church is God's chosen instrument in the world for sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. The book of Acts is all about the unhindered movement of God throughout the world as the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through the church. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the early church was an unstoppable movement that proclaimed the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life. Today, the church empowered by the Holy Spirit is called to continue God's redeeming work in the world by fulfilling God's mission of making Jesus known to the ends of the earth.

Challenge: As an essential matter to the Christian faith, we must never comprise the gospel of grace by adding to it or taking away from it. We must accept the gospel affirms that salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. On non-essential matters in the Christian faith, we must live charitably with one another working hard at preserving the unity of body of Christ, so that we don’t hinder the work of God and the advancement of the gospel in this world.
