Preparation Question: How often do you think of Heaven, and is it even helpful?
1. Heaven is in our hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
2. Heaven should be on our minds. (Hebrews 9:27)
3. Heaven can give us hope and encouragement while living in this troubled world. (2 Corinthians 4:16-5:8)

1. Why has the concept of Heaven (or some form of blissful afterlife) been such a universal idea throughout world history?
2. How has this concept affected history? How does it affect your life?
3. Why in John 14:1-3 did Jesus use the promise of a perfect heavenly home as a reason for our hearts to be encouraged in spite of the troubled world in which we live?
