PIONEERING REVIVAL
A Pioneer's Path Through Psalm 51
Psalm 51:10–12 (ESV)
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
David’s heart cry for personal revival becomes to a divine call for corporate reformation
The Pioneer Sargent - a solider who who cuts new paths and leads his company on that path
There is a deep need in the nation for "Pioneer Sargents" to reclaim the ancient paths that lead to personal and corporate moves of God.
Revival comes as a response. It is heavens answer to the prayers of God's holy people who have reached the point of frustration with the dead, dry, routines of religion and called out in repentance for God's intervention

1) WHEN YOU COME TO REALIZE YOUR NEED FOR REVIVAL…
RETURN TO THE LORD
Psalm 51:1 (ESV)
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
a) Return To God’s Mercy
Mercy - when you do not get what you deserve
b) Return To God’s Love
Steadfast Love - the overwhelming, neverending, reckless love of God
God hates your sin, because God loves you
God promises to remove our sins when we return to Him, but He does not promise to remove the consequence of our sins
c) Return To God’s Grace
Grace - when you get what you don’t deserve
2) WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE LORD…
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
Psalm 51:2–7 (ESV)
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.

FULL REPENTANCE
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
OT Repentance - to turn back, about-face
NT Repentance - to change one’s self (heart and mind); to undergo a change, to become different, losing one’s original nature
Repentance... is a grace-enabled change of mind and heart that results in a total transformation of the individual
4. WHEN YOU REPENT... THE LORD PROMISES TO RESPOND

8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
Only God can remove the stain and shame of sin

Restores back to our future
Personal revival is the restoration of God's original divine intent for your life
d) He RECLAIMS
13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
and they will return to you.
14 Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;
then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.
15 Unseal my lips, O Lord,
that my mouth may praise you.
The logical and proper response to revival
Discipleship - It will TEACH your ways
Worship - I will SING of your ways
Evangelism - I will SHOUT of your ways
True revival reaches up, reaches in and reaches out
5) DAVID REMINDS THAT REPENTANCE IS THE KEY TO THE DOOR OF REVIVAL
16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one.
You do not want a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
6) DAVID REMINDS THAT REVIVAL REBUILDS THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
18 Look with favor on Zion and help her;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit—
with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings.
Then bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.
Let Your Cry For Revival Become A Call To Revival
