#1- What is The Fall?
Adam and Eve rejected God's rule over them. We call this rebellious choice“the fall,” and because they represented all of humanity, their action affects us too.
We have-- through our attitudes and actions-- declared ourselves to be God's enemies. This rebellion results in physical and spiritual death for us today
#2- What are the effects of The Fall?
-Internal
Guilt, shame and broken relationship with God
-External
Pain, suffering and exile from the Garden (shattered peace)
-Eternal
God would pursue us, send his only son to the cross to atone for our sin and redeem us for salvation
#3- What is God's response?
God would pursue his creation and do whatever it takes to cover our sin and He would ultimately in Christ Jesus
Genesis 3 describes us all. It is all of our stories. We have fractured our relationship with the creator God through our own sin, and like Adam and Eve have hid our hearts from God.
And yet, God seeks us out to find us and offers us grace and mercy, not in the form of a fig leaf, but in the offering of his son Jesus. To not just cover our shame and guilt, but take it away through salvation.
For the believer:
If you have experienced this wondrous act of love, worship. Thank God for his mercy and love for you.
For the unbeliever & seeker:
God so loved YOU, that he gave his only son Jesus, that if YOU believe, you will not experience spiritual death, but life eternally with Him.
We have been and are Adam and Eve. And like them, God's love is available to us if we will come to Him, pray and ask Him to save us.
