Everyone has to grow up eventually. Babies grow into mature adults. New converts grow into mature disciples. And new churches grow up into base communities that become a source mission to others. The church at Antioch started life out dependent on experienced ministry coming from other base churches, but it became the base for Barnabas and Paul’s first missionary journey. Along the way, they learned to understand God’s Word better, and how to hear God’s voice when he was leading them somewhere new. It’s an exciting journey for anyone to grow up and play their part in the big, wide world and the same is true when churches grow into their full potential too.

1. What is a baby church / Christian like?
- God and people both play their part in a new conversion or church plant.
- A baby church / Christian depends on others.
2. What changes as you grow up?
- You start to develop your own character.
- You’re not so dependent on others.
- You become a giver, not a taker.
3. Is Redeemer Church growing up?
- We have a new and large facility to reach out from.
- We can send mission trips to help others.
- We have a role to play in Blue Bay, the North and beyond.
