Cross City Church
April 11, 2021 | The Gospel and Sinners
In our In Not Of series, we will continue our journey with the Corinthian church as Paul rebukes them for tolerating sexual sin under a misapplied definition of love. Paul explained that in order to be different than the world that sin cannot be tolerated in the Church. In our culture today, tolerance is seen as one of the highest ideals, but just as Paul explained to the Corinthians, we are called to live differently in every aspect of our lives, including how we as believers address immorality.

http://crscty.ch/givedirectOr do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
…they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world…as you sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? v. 9
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”
Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…
Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. v. 9b-10
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
…those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. v. 11
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
…you were sanctified…
…you were justified…
For He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin.

http://crscty.ch/decisionCan you see why the Corinthians needed this clarity? Why we need it?
Is my faith a mental faith only, or do I trust Christ with my past, future, AND present life?
The incredible love of God can rescue us from anything, and make us into an entirely new person – has that taken place in your life?
