Jesus’s death and resurrection have assured us that we can draw near to God the Father.

Hebrews 4:16 proclaims, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

But exactly how and what do we pray?
--What does it look like to draw near to the Lord.
----Worship…yes
----Reading…absolutely
----Prayer… beyond a shadow of a doubt!

Over the coming four weeks, we will study specific examples of how Jesus prayed to his Father. There is no one formula to follow as we pray.
However, as Jesus’s followers we can learn from his example of how to pray in different seasons.
Big Idea: As Jesus prepares for his journey to the cross, he takes time to pray for himself.
1) Prayer is to be a natural part of our lives.

2) Jesus reminds us whom we are in dialogue with.

3) Ask God to be glorified in our lives.

4) Pray that we would fiathfully accomplish the work.
(write notes below)
Application Point: As we pray for ourselves, we ask our Father to help us live our lives for the glory of God and the good of others, faithfully accomplishing the work the Father has entrusted to us.
