“Who Am I?” (we come by it honestly!)

1) God appeared and spoke to Moses. And Moses asked:

“…who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
Exodus 3:11

2) God promised Moses. And Moses asked:

“What if they do not believe me?”
Exodus 4:1

3) God proved himself to Moses. And Moses replied:

“…I am slow of speech and tongue.”
Exodus 4:10

John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full” – Jesus

“Who Am I In Christ?” (Paradigm Shift)

Romans 8:1-17

To be “in Christ” means that we have a paradigm shift for our lives. We don’t need to ask “who am I?” anymore, because Jesus answers that for us.
Adoption = Highest Status

“The Roman-Syrian law book…actually lays down the principle that a man can never put away an adopted son, and that he cannot put away a real son without good ground. It is remarkable that the adopted son should have a stronger position than the son by birth, yet it was so”
William M Ramsay

Galatians 4:1-7
Ephesians 1:1-14

Embracing the Inheritance
Our ultimate identity is as a son and daughter of God. Because Jesus came to this earth to show us God’s love, shut down religion, save us from sin and set up God’s Kingdom, we can choose into a relationship with him, which means becoming a full heir to His inheritance. This is how He came to bring us life to the full.

This week: What identities in your life need a re-ordering (or need to be let go completely) so that Jesus is first?
Spend time this week reading through Psalm 139 as you ask God to remind you about who you are in Him.
