> God’s calls us to BE AT Peace with one another

- Epistles- Romans 12:8, 2 Cor 13:11
> God’s calls us to PURSUE peace
- Psalms – seek peace and pursue it 34:14
- Gospels – Blessed are the peacemakers Matt 5:9
> God’s Word also speaks of False peace
False peace touches the surface – but does not deal with the heart
- Prophets –Jeremiah 6:14
- Gospels – John 14:27
> Reconciliation – the cost of peace Genesis 42:8-9
Seeking Reconciliation between one another is commanded by God
- Peace comes with a cost - a call to reconcile
- It comes with risk of a failure – others may not be willing to reconcile
- It has eternal consequences
> Life lessons in Peace for us today
o Conflict defines too much of the church- Do not be part of it
o God calls us to be people of peace- commit to that
o God calls us to pursue peace- be active not passive
o Watch out for false peace- it does not heal wounds
o Reconciliation- embrace the cost of peace

Food for thought:
- See Numbers 6:24-26 The Aaronic blessing
Earlier this year we received teaching on the blessing of peace provided in Aaronic blessing.
[“the Lord bless you… and give you peace”].
Does this study today give greater understanding on the concept of the covenant blessing of peace?
