* There is an aggravated assault every 41 seconds, and a murder every 33 minutes.
* Among young men, murder is the #2 cause of death. Among young women, it’s the #1.
* Domestic violence was the #1 cause of emergency room visits by women. During the Vietnam War, more women were murdered at home than men slain on the battlefield.
* 1,500 people are killed or injured every year because of conflict in traffic.
1. You’ve been angry.
2. In your anger, you’ve probably done something dumb.
Myth #1: My anger is caused by things or other people.
Do you find yourself saying, “You make me so mad”? Is so, then you believe that other people are the cause of your anger.
Big Idea: If you don’t take responsibility for your anger, you will just be a slave to it.
Myth #2: I just can’t control my anger.
Myth 3: The best way to handle your anger is to ventilate.
—Carol Tapis
Myth 4: Talking it out with a third party makes you feel less angry.
Talking out the emotion does not reduce the emotion; it rehearses the emotion.
Myth 5: Never feeling angry is automatically a sign of spiritual and emotional maturity.
