Praying for Our Neighbors
Expand
Dear Friends, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life." The Lord planted our church--and each of you--where we are to help our neighbors discover the light of life. So, we're asking everyone who calls ECC home to consider becoming a "light" to their neighbors and living intentional pray-care-share lifestyles. This fits so well our annual B.L.E.S.S. initiative, too. As a reminder, BLESS stands for Begin with prayer. Listen with care. Eat together. Serve in love. Share your story.Becoming a "light" in your neighborhood is free and confidential. You'll receive a map and list of your closest neighbors, along with emails at the frequency of your choice to pray for your next five neighbors that day. When you get a chance, walk or drive by those homes as you pray for them. To learn more about this opportunity visit the following link and watch the 2 minute video by Stephen Kendrick. When you are ready to get started, click the sign up button on the bottom of the page. - Pastor Stacey Littlefield

The Kingdom Takes Shape: Carol???

Sixth Sunday After Pentecost
Carol Smith, Youth Director
Write this week's Good News Statement below:
Questions to ponder: Which character or characters in the story of the Jerusalem Council do you identify with? What experiences have you had that are similar to them?
Question to ponder: Read Peter’s experience in Acts 10 and compare it to what Paul writes in Galatians 2 and finally what Peter says in Acts 15:7-11 What stands out to you about what happened and Peter’s Journey?
Question to ponder: Re-read James’ speech and decision documented in Act 15:13-29. What can you lean and apply from how James approaches this situation? How does it apply to your work or ministry context?
Question to ponder: In what ways have you, like the gentile believers in Antioch, made concessions at times for the sake of not offending, or causing your brothers and sisters in Christ to stumble

Prayer for the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost
O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
