Jesus explained that the good soil represented a good hearer, one whose heart received the Word of God.
The good heart is the fruitful heart.
I. Fruitful hearts witness obediently, 4:21-23.
A. Light is used as a metaphor for:
1. Truth, Psalm 119:105.
2. Spiritual life, John 1:4.
3. Holiness, Romans 13:12.
B. Your life is to be a witness for Christ, Matthew 5:16.
II. Fruitful hearts work expectantly, 4:24-25.
A. Serious dedication to the task is demonstrated.
B. Harvest expectations are determined by work invested, Galatians 6:7-8.
III. Fruitful hearts wait dependently, 4:26-29.
A. Only God can give life, 1 Corinthians 3:6-7.
B. God is faithful to bring the harvest.
IV. Fruitful hearts walk confidently, 4:30-32.
A. Fruitful hearts are entrusted totally to God.
B. The Kingdom of God will not fail, Matthew 16:18.
