- Today celebrate Pentecost
· The birthday of the Church
· The empowering of the Church
- Jesus took his last days doing what?
· Jesus had 40 days to prepare his followers
-- He taught them the kingdom
-- He taught more than just the 11
-- they all waited for this special day

-Jesus called them to wait for the Baptism of the Spirit

Key thoughts from this past week’s message:

>Join together and pray
-- during this pandemic – let’s be a people who gather and pray
-- do not be afraid to pray – do it together (as we are able to do)

>Pray for:
-- government officials – wisdom from God
-- front-line workers – their safely
--God’s provision for those with lost jobs
-- God’s comfort for those who have lost loved ones, those in suffering

>Pray for the baptism of the Spirit for all people
-- for all of the church
-- for all who would call upon the name of the Lord Jesus had 40 days to prepare his followers
-- He taught them the kingdom
-- He taught more than just the 11
-- they all waited for this special day

+ In this time – we pray for the Baptism of the Spirit upon the whole church. What part of the Church might we have missed in this prayer? Pray specifically for them.

+ Pray for the Baptism of the Spirit to fall on those who have not yet received Jesus – as we saw with Cornelius. Who specifically will I pray for the Spirit to fill?
