I. REMEMBER THE PAST
A. Joshua set up stones as a memorial
These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.

B. Israel was given a visible object to cause them to remember something important
C. Israel was to remember the choices that were made.
D. Israel had the responsibility to keep alive the memory of that event
E. Tomorrow is a national day of remembering
II. BUILD FOR THE FUTURE
A. Israel was entering a new land
B. They were looking forward to the future!
C. God is building for the future as well
You also, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

D. God is calling His people to be living stones
Conclusion:
Today we are to remember. Remember the past; what God have done for us and the sacrifices made for freedom. We are to build for the future, building on the foundation of faith and sacrifice and trusting God for what lies ahead.
