Where we get our English word happy is from the word happenstance. That means for most of us? Happiness is dependent upon what happens to us. But the word that is translated blessed in Psalm 1:1 means more than happy. If you're shooting for happiness? God says you're shooting too low.
Look at the progression of verbs: walking, standing, and sitting. They move from action to inaction. Slowing down to a halt. Settling. In a quagmire. You aren’t moving. You aren’t changing. You aren’t growing. You are stuck.

An Attitude of Delight will lead to the Action of Meditation.
The Hebrew word to meditate is the word hagah. Hagah means to mutter, to talk to yourself, to muse, to ponder; to chew on—meditating.
The Big Idea: Don’t get stuck—meditate & chew on God’s Word regularly.
Trees by the river never have to worry about having enough water.
