Here at Echo, we are an incredibly diverse community, which we celebrate and love here. Because of this we have lots of different opinions, so in order to have a respectful environment, here are some reminders:
1. We don’t have to all agree, in order to show respect and love each other. We welcome diverse thoughts, but we do not welcome disrespect or hatred. We can walk in harmony, even with variations of belief.
Though we love engagement here at Echo, today I want to ask you to not clap… because something important to you might be hurtful for another…
2. We are a community centered on Jesus and His teachings - so what we teach is based on our best understanding of the Bible, so we invite you to humbly and openly explore the ways of Jesus with us.
3. Our goal is to create bridges, not build walls - in our community, we acknowledge we are all broken, needing grace and forgiveness. This means we see all people as equal in value - even those who disagree.
So, again, throughout this series, regardless of who you are attracted to… whether you are gay, straight, Christian, atheist, confident about your identity, questioning your identity, living in freedom or feeling stuck in sin… YOU ARE LOVED HERE.
In the first book of the Bible, a book called Genesis, we see God creating balance and beauty through complementary pairings. The first 3 days God forms them, the next 3 he fills them. [Gen. 1:1-25]
