Why am I here? What’s the purpose of my life? Where can I find meaning for life? The same question in many different forms and one that each person has asked at some point or other. It’s understandable because nobody likes wasting their time. We don’t want to give up a couple of valuable hours when there doesn’t seem to be any purpose in it. And yet we find it hard to define the meaning of life as a whole. It is only in relationship with our creator that we can find the answers to that question. He is the one who made us, who understands us and who knows what is best for us. The place to start when we are looking for the purpose of life is with God who is the source of life.

1. It’s not about you
It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny.
2. You are not an accident
Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. He thought of you first.
3. The reason for everything
The ultimate goal of the universe is to show the glory of God. It is the reason for everything that exists, including you. We bring God glory by:
- Worship – a lifestyle of loving God
- Fellowship – loving other believers
- Discipleship – becoming like Christ
- Ministry – serving others with our gifts
- Evangelism – telling others about him
4. The benefits of purpose-driven living
There are so many benefits of living a purpose-driven life. Here are some of them:
- It gives meaning to your life
- It simplifies your life
- It focuses your life
- It motivates your life
- It prepares you for eternity
