Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet - Cedric Holl

Just before Jesus was crucified, we are told an amazing and intimate story about Jesus stripping down and taking on the role of a servant. He washed the feet of each of his disciples and dried them with the towel around his waist. Jesus knew who he was, he knew where he had come from and where he was going. But, he didn’t let his high position prevent him from serving his disciples in love. Even more striking is that one of these men was Judas, who was about to betray him. In this great act of loving service, Jesus has left us an example to follow. If there was nothing that prevented Jesus from humble obedience, what is holding us back from doing the same?
