"The Church must take right ground in regard to politics…Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as part of their duty to God...God will bless or curse this nation, according to the course Christians take in politics."

Bill of Rights 1st Ammendment of the United States:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

1st Version introduced to the Senate on September 3, 1789, stated,
- “Congress shall not make any law establishing any religious denomination.”

2nd Version stated,

3rd Version declared,
- “Congress shall make no law establishing any particular denomination in preference to another.”

Final Version passed on that day declared,
