Psalms 69:20-21
Psalms 69:20-21 The Message (MSG)
I’m broken by their taunts, Flat on my face, reduced to a nothing. I looked in vain for one friendly face. Not one. I couldn’t find one shoulder to cry on. They put poison in my soup, Vinegar in my drink.

Reproach and insults have broken my heart and I am so sick. I looked for sympathy, but there was none, And for comforters, but I found none. They (self-righteous hypocrites) also gave me gall [poisonous and bitter] for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Psalms 69:20-21 New Living Translation (NLT)
Their insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. If only one person would show some pity; if only one would turn and comfort me. But instead, they give me poison for food; they offer me sour wine for my thirst.
