Psalm 7
A shiggaion #7:0 Unknown musical term. by David; he sang it to the Lord about the ⌞slanderous⌟ words of Cush, a descendant of Benjamin.
1O Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you.
Save me, and rescue me from all who are pursuing me.
2Like a lion they will tear me to pieces
and drag me off with no one to rescue me.
3O Lord my God,
if I have done this—
if my hands are stained with injustice,
4if I have paid back my friend with evil
or rescued someone who has no reason to attack me—
5then let the enemy chase me and catch me.
Let him trample my life into the ground.
Let him lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6Arise in anger, O Lord.
Stand up against the fury of my attackers.
Wake up, my God.#7:6 Greek; Masoretic Text “Wake up to me.”
You have already pronounced judgment.
7Let an assembly of people gather around you.
Take your seat high above them.
8The Lord judges the people of the world.
Judge me, O Lord,
according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity.
9Let the evil within wicked people come to an end,
but make the righteous person secure,
O righteous God who examines thoughts and emotions.
10My shield is God above,
who saves those whose motives are decent.
11God is a fair judge,
a God who is angered by injustice every day.
12If a person does not change, God sharpens his sword.
By bending his bow, he makes it ready ⌞to shoot⌟.
13He prepares his deadly weapons
and turns them into flaming arrows.
14See how that person conceives evil,
is pregnant with harm,
and gives birth to lies.
15He digs a pit and shovels it out.
Then he falls into the hole that he made ⌞for others⌟.
16His mischief lands back on his own head.
His violence comes down on top of him.
17I will give thanks to the Lord for his righteousness.
I will make music to praise the name of the Lord Most High.

Prayer and Praise for Deliverance from Enemies
A #Hab. 3:1Meditation of David, which he sang to the Lord #2 Sam. 16concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.
1O Lord my God, in You I put my trust;
#Ps. 31:15Save me from all those who persecute me;
And deliver me,
2#Ps. 57:4; Is. 38:13Lest they tear me like a lion,
#Ps. 50:22Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3O Lord my God, #2 Sam. 16:7if I have done this:
If there is #1 Sam. 24:11iniquity in my hands,
4If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me,
Or #1 Sam. 24:7; 26:9have plundered my enemy without cause,
5Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;
Yes, let him trample my life to the earth,
And lay my honor in the dust.
Selah
6Arise, O Lord, in Your anger;
#Ps. 94:2Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies;
#Ps. 35:23; 44:23Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!
7So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You;
For their sakes, therefore, return on high.
8The Lord shall judge the peoples;
#Ps. 26:1; 35:24; 43:1Judge me, O Lord, #Ps. 18:20; 35:24according to my righteousness,
And according to my integrity within me.
9Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
But establish the just;
#(1 Sam. 16:7)For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.
10My defense is of God,
Who saves the #Ps. 97:10, 11; 125:4upright in heart.
11God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12If he does not turn back,
He will #Deut. 32:41sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
14#Job 15:35; Is. 59:4; (James 1:15)Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity;
Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.
15He made a pit and dug it out,
#(Job 4:8); Ps. 57:6And has fallen into the ditch which he made.
16#Esth. 9:25; Ps. 140:9His trouble shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
17I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness,
And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.
