1I #[ch. 4:16; 6:2] came to my garden, my #ch. 4:9, 10, 12 sister, my bride,
I gathered my #ver. 5, 13; ch. 4:14 myrrh with my spice,
I ate my #ch. 4:11 honeycomb with my honey,
I #[Prov. 9:5] drank my wine with my milk.

2I slept, but my heart was awake.
A sound! My beloved is #[Rev. 3:20] knocking.

for my head is wet with dew,

4My beloved put his hand to the latch,
and my heart was thrilled within me.

but my beloved had turned and gone.
My soul failed me when he #[ver. 2] spoke.

set on bases of gold.

and he is altogether desirable.
