Sending Out the Seventy-Two
1After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two#10:1 Other mss read seventy others, and he sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2He told them,#Mt 9:37–38; Jn 4:35 “The harvest#Rv 14:15 is abundant, but the workers#Mt 20:1 are few. Unrepentant Towns

The Return of the Seventy-Two

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

30Jesus took up the question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him up, and fled, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan#Mt 10:5; Lk 9:52; Ac 1:8 on his journey came up to him, and when he saw the man, he had compassion.#Lk 7:13; 15:20 34He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on olive oil#Is 1:6; Jms 5:14 and wine. Then Jesus told him, “Go and do the same.”
Martha and Mary
